Site Status Overview

Your website can have one of two statuses:

How to Publish

Step 1: Preview Your Site

Before publishing, make sure your site is ready:

1. Check all pages look correct
2. Test on different devices (desktop, tablet, phone)
3. Verify all links work
4. Review the content for errors

Step 2: Click Publish

1. Find the Publish button in the preview toolbar
2. Click to open the publish confirmation

Step 3: Confirm Publication

A confirmation dialog will appear:

1. Review the publish options
2. Click Confirm to publish
3. Wait for the process to complete

Step 4: Your Site is Live!

After publishing, you'll see:

• A success message with your site URL
• Options to share your new website
• Link to connect a custom domain

Default URL

Every published site gets a free URL in this format:

https://yoursite.wave.love

Custom Domain

Want to use your own domain like www.yourbusiness.com?

1. After publishing, click Connect Domain
2. Enter your domain name
3. Follow the DNS setup instructions
4. Wait for domain verification

Updating a Published Site

Publishing updates is just as easy as the first publish:

Making Changes

1. Edit your site using chat or visual editor
2. Changes are saved automatically as drafts
3. Click Publish again to push updates live

What Happens to Visitors?

• Visitors always see the latest published version
• Changes appear immediately after republishing
• No downtime during updates

Unpublishing a Site

Need to take your site offline?

1. Open your site settings
2. Find the publish status option
3. Switch from Published to Draft
4. Confirm the action

Your site will no longer be visible to the public, but all content is preserved.

Publishing Requirements

Before you can publish, make sure:

Subscription Plans

To publish your website, you'll need an active subscription. If you're on a trial:

1. A payment modal will appear when you click Publish
2. Choose a subscription plan
3. Complete the payment
4. Your site will be published automatically

SEO & Meta Information

Help people find your site in search engines:

Setting Meta Information

1. Go to Site Settings (gear icon ⚙️)
2. Find the SEO section
3. Fill in:
   • Meta Title — appears in browser tabs and search results
   • Meta Description — summary shown in search results

Tips for Good SEO

• Keep title under 60 characters
• Write description between 150-160 characters
• Include relevant keywords naturally
• Make it compelling for users to click

Sharing Your Site

After publishing, share your website:

Social Media

Copy your site URL and share it on:

• Facebook
• Instagram
• Twitter/X
• LinkedIn

Email

Send your website link to:

• Clients and customers
• Friends and family
• Business contacts

QR Code

Generate a QR code for:

• Business cards
• Printed materials
• Store displays

Troubleshooting

"Cannot Publish" Error

Check your subscription:

• Make sure your plan is active
• Verify payment method is valid

Check your content:

• Ensure pages have content
• Remove any unsupported elements

Site Not Updating

If changes aren't showing after publish:

1. Wait a few minutes for cache to clear
2. Try hard-refreshing (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)
3. Check in incognito/private browsing mode

Domain Not Connecting

If custom domain setup fails:

1. Verify DNS records are correct
2. Wait up to 24-48 hours for DNS propagation
3. Check for typos in domain name
4. Contact support if issues persist
